Aggie Invitational Live Results
For the second consecutive week, Liberty’s track & field athletes will be divided between meets in California and North Carolina. A group of 13 throwers, hurdlers and jumpers will compete in the Triton Invitational, Friday and Saturday in San Diego, Calif. The rest of the Flames will travel to Greensboro, N.C., for Saturday’s Aggie Invitational.
How to Follow the Flames and Lady Flames
Live results will be available throughout both the Triton Invitational and Aggie Invitational.
Weather Report
Friday’s forecast in San Diego calls for sunny skies and a high in the upper 80s. Saturday will be cooler (high in the upper 60s) with a mixture of sunshine and clouds.
In Greensboro, Saturday’s weather is expected to feature morning sunshine and afternoon clouds with a high in the mid 50s.
Triton Invitational Preview
A week after setting the ASUN men’s discus record (186-3) at the VertKlasse Meeting, ASUN Men’s Field Athlete of the Week Kevin Nedrick will be among a sizable group of discus throwers chasing big marks on the West Coast at the Triton Invitational.
Nedrick and the other Liberty discus throwers will compete in the open sections. The invitational sections are headlined by the Tokyo men’s (Sweden’s Daniel Stahl) and women’s (USA’s Valarie Allman) discus gold medalists.
Quinten Clay and Ayanna Johnson set Liberty’s indoor long jump records in February. Now they will set their sights on the long-standing outdoor long jump program records. Chad Wilson has held the men’s long jump standard (25-6.75) since 2004, while Gina Gibson’s women’s long jump record (20-0.25) dates all the way back to 1984.
Aggie Invitational Preview
The women’s throws are some of the top events which bear watching on Saturday at the Aggie Invitational.
Reigning ASUN Women’s Field Athlete of the Week Megan Mann is entered in three events (women’s shot put, discus and hammer). Meanwhile, Kali Grayson will continue her comeback from injury as she attempts to defend her Aggie Invitational women’s javelin title.
Luke Anderson fared well at this meet a year ago, clocking a then personal-best 14.61 in the men’s 110 hurdles prelims before taking seventh place in the final. He will be back in the 110 hurdles on Saturday.
