• After having their ASUN series at Kennesaw State canceled, Liberty will play two games with VCU Rams this weekend. The Flames will host the Rams on Friday, before traveling to Richmond, Va., for a contest with VCU at the Diamond on Saturday.
• Liberty and VCU will be meeting for the second time in two weeks. The Flames won a pair of games from the Rams, March 20-21. Liberty defeated VCU 3-2 in Lynchburg on March 20 and downed VCU 6-1 on March 21.
• The Flames finished the month of March with a 14-2 record. Liberty won 13 consecutive games to start the month, the second longest winning streak in the country this season. The streak set a new NCAA Division I program record for the Flames..
• Liberty enters Friday's game with an 8-0 mark at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium in 2021. The Flames are 43-7 over the last three seasons at the facility.
• Liberty head coach Scott Jackson is in his fifth season. He has led the Flames to a 133-84 record and a NCAA Regional appearance during his tenure in 2019.

- C Gray Betts has at least one hit in each of his last nine games, the longest hitting streak for a Flame this season. During the streak, Betts has hit .448 during the streak. On Tuesday, the catcher had two hits, including an RBI triple at Duke. He enters the weekend with a team-leading 21 runs scored.
- 1B Logan Mathieu hit his team-leading fifth home run of the season and had two hits in Liberty's win over Virginia on March 24.
- 2B Will Wagner singled on Tuesday to extend his reached base safely to 13 games, the longest for a Liberty player this season. Wagner leads the Flames with 19 RBI.
- SS With a double on Tuesday, Cam Locklear enters the weekend with a three-game hitting streak. The infielder has made only one error and has a .989 fielding percentage.
- 3B Trey McDyre has a .476 on base percentage over the last 10 games. This past Friday, McDyre hit his first home run of the season in Liberty's 5-2 win over Bellarmine.
- OF Aaron Anderson enters the weekend with a team-leading .356 batting average. On Tuesday, he recorded his team-leading 11th multi-hit game of the year. In his first start of the season at first base, Anderson had three hits and belted his second home run of the year in the contest.
- OF Jaylen Guy had two hits and scored a run on Tuesday. It was Guy's second multi-hit game of the season.
- OF Starting in left field for the Flames, Brandon Rohrer hit his second home run in his last three games, Tuesday at Duke.
- SP Freshman right-hander Trey Gibson has posted a 4-0 record with a 0.72 ERA in his last four starts. In 25 innings, Gibson has struck out 33 and walked five during the stretch. Last Saturday, he pitched a career-high 8 2/3 innings in game two win over Bellarmine.
- RP Fraser Ellard has not allowed a run in his last five appearances. Ellard struck out six of the seven VCU Rams he faced in 1 1/3 scoreless innnings of work on March 21. Ellard six strikeouts were part of the Flames season-high 17.
