
Anderson Named Co-ASUN Player of the Week

Liberty outfielder Aaron Anderson has been selected the Co-ASUN Baseball Player of the Week.
Anderson, who earns his first ASUN Player of the Week selection, shares this week's honor with Bellarmine third baseman Josh Finerty.
Anderson posted a .545 batting average with three doubles, four RBI and four runs scored in three games this week. The junior outfielder had two hits apiece in each of Liberty's victories, including a walk-off double in a 3-2 win, allowing the Flames to set a new school record for consecutive victories at the NCAA Division I level at 10.
The Jacksonville, Fla., native started the week with two doubles, a RBI and two runs scored as the Flames defeated No. 14 North Carolina for the second time in seven days 8-4, this past Tuesday.
Anderson followed that performance with two hits, a big double, a RBI and run scored in Liberty's victory at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium on Saturday. With the contest knotted at 2-2 in the bottom of the ninth, the outfielder lined a double into the right field corner to score catcher Gray Betts and gave the Flames a 3-2 win.
Yesterday, Anderson once again had two hits, but this time drove in two runs in Liberty's 6-1 win at VCU.
Anderson leads the Flames with a .319 batting average and 13 RBI. He also has a team-leading nine doubles. He has scored nine runs in 2021.
Winners of 11 straight contests, Anderson and the Flames will host the Virginia Cavaliers at Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium, Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
