Following Liberty's win over Vanderbilt, Myo Baxter-Bell was named the ASUN Conference Co-Player of the Week, along with Kennesaw State's Tyler Hooker. This is the redshirt senior's first-ever player of the week honor as he helped the Flames improve to 12-0 this season.
Baxter-Bell was a spark for Liberty all night against the Commodores as he led Liberty with a season-high 18 points to go along with five rebounds and a steal. The Cincinnati, Ohio native was clutch from the free throw line, shooting a career-best 8-8 from the charity stripe. With the game on the line, Baxter-Bell stepped up against Vanderbilt scoring 16 points in the second half, which led all scorers. Baxter-Bell has been a force off the bench for Liberty all season, averaging 9.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game this year as the Flames are off to their best start in school history.
Liberty will return to action on Friday, Dec. 20, in the D.C. Holiday Hoops Fest Tournament at the Entertainment and Sports Arena, home of the Washington Wizards NBA G-League team. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. and can be seen on FloHoops TV.
