Liberty junior Bradley Prentice's first 800 of the season produced a Big South-leading time of 1:50.52, Saturday at the Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track.
The 2016 Big South men's outdoor 800 champion, Prentice placed fifth in the event while just missing his career-best time of 1:50.38 from 2017. Uncharacteristically for an 800-meter race, Prentice clocked nearly identical splits for his two laps (55.24 and 55.28).
Freshmen Jeremiah McCants (44-0) and Josh Hammond (42-8.25) came in sixth and eighth, respectively, in the men's triple jump. For Hammond, it marked his debut in a Liberty uniform.
Meanwhile, Miranda Moss was the Lady Flames' top performer on the day, triple jumping 33-11.25 for 19th place in the event.
