Learn. Share. Grow. That is the motto Henry Barrera, director of performance for men's basketball, lives by as he molds college athletes physically and mentally. As Barrera is always looking to learn, he recently sat down for a "Game On Talks" interview with Matt Warner.
After working at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. as a Performance Training Specialist working with some of the top athletes across the world that include Nicholas Batum and Stephen Curry, Barrera is now making an impact on young athletes lives at Liberty. By bettering himself through reading, researching and growing spiritually, Barrera has been influenced by people like John Wooden. He is able to relate to his players when training them because he once was in their shoes, having played college basketball at Yakima Valley Community College and then was a three-time All-American and the 1999-2000 NCAA Pete Maravich National Player of the Year at Multnomah University.
Today's LFSN Game On feature dives into Barrera's background at Nike and tells his story of constantly challenging not only his players but himself because the people around him that inspire him day-in and day-out.
