Liberty baseball has announced the team's schedule for its first fall season under new head coach Scott Jackson and his staff. The 2016 fall schedule will feature an exhibition game against Virginia and the team's annual intrasquad Navy and Red World Series at the Liberty Baseball Stadium.
As part of its fall schedule, the Flames will host the Virginia Cavaliers in exhibition play on Oct. 1 at Noon. Admission is free.
Per NCAA regulations, the Flames' fall exhibition game with Virginia will count toward Liberty's 56-game regular season for the 2017 season, but the outcome of the game will not count toward the Flames' win-loss record. Liberty will play 55 regular-season games in the spring.
The team's Navy and Red World Series is scheduled to begin Oct. 10 and will consist of five games. The series will conclude with Game 5 on Friday, Oct. 14. There is no admission charge for any of the Navy and Red World Series contests.
The Flames will open fall practice this coming Thursday (Sept. 1) at 2 p.m.
