Kurgat Named ECAC South Rookie of the Week

Liberty's Ednah Kurgat has been named the ECAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Division I South Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference today.
Kurgat's honor came as a result of her impressive showing at the Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships last week in Winston-Salem, N.C. The native of Eldoret, Kenya captured the women's 3K title and placed third in the mile, becoming the Lady Flames' first Big South Women's Freshman of the Year in meet history.
Kurgat is entered in the women's 5K at this weekend's IC4A and ECAC Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for Friday through Sunday at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
