From the press box of North Carolina A&T's Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, North Carolina, LibertyFlames.com will provide live blog coverage of all three days of the 2010 NCAA Division I Preliminary Round track & field meet.
We have reached the third and final day of the NCAA Division I Preliminary Round track & field meet, and Liberty has qualified two athletes to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon so far. Sam Chelanga made it in the men's 10K Thursday evening and Elliot Galeone advanced in the men's javelin yesterday.
Today, we will see if that number can grow to three or four. Evans Kigen will run the men's steeplechase at 9:30 a.m., after his event was washed out last night, and Clarence Powell will triple jump at noon.
Meanwhile, Chelanga and Galeone will both try to qualify in a second event. Galeone throws the discus at 9:30, and Chelanga will compete in the 5K this evening at 8:05 p.m.
For the second straight meet, I will be utilizing the CoveritLive blog interface. Please feel free to send along any comments and questions throughout the weekend, and I'll do my best to address them in a timely manner. Go Flames!
