Bingham Wins USTFCCCA Regional Coaching Award

Liberty Associate Head Track & Field Coach Lance Bingham has been honored as the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Regional Men's Assistant Coach of the Year, it was announced today.
Bingham, in his 10th year at Liberty, primarily trains the Flames' field event and multi-event athletes. Three of his pupils—Jon Hart (Sr., Wyomissing, Pa.), Clendon Henderson (Sr., Meadow, Texas) and Brandon Hoskins (Sr., Garden City, Texas)—are each ranked in the top eight nationally for their respective events and are on their way to Des Moines, Iowa for this week's NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Bingham, a Texas native, is in his fourth year back on the Liberty track & field staff, after spending three seasons (2002-04) as South Plains Junior College's head track & field coach. While at South Plains, Bingham coached 33 All-Americans and earned the 2004 National Junior College Outdoor Coach of the Year award.
The Texas Tech graduate initially joined head coach Brant Tolsma's staff as an assistant coach for the 1996 season. That year, the Liberty men's track team won its first of three IC4A outdoor team championships. Bingham has been a part of all three IC4A title-winning teams.
