
Liberty's Young Named Big South Player of the Week

Liberty outfielder Garrett Young has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Baseball Player of the Week for games played March 5-11, as announced this afternoon by the league office.
Young (Jr., Fountain Valley, Calif.) batted .556 (10-18) and knocked in nine runs in leading the Flames to a 3-1 mark last week. He posted a .579 on-base percentage, 16 total bases, an .889 slugging percentage, four multi-hit games and four multi-RBI games. Young went 3-4 with two runs scored and two RBI to begin the week at Old Dominion, then drove in three runs in Friday's win over George Washington with a home run and a triple. He also tallied five runs scored, one double and two stolen bases during the week.
Young and the 12-5 Flames return to action on Tuesday afternoon as they host the Virginia Tech Hokies. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
